Meet the Staff
Dr. Shorten and his staff truly care about their patients, placing their comfort and satisfaction above all else. The highly trained staff takes the time to personalize the dental experience, taking the fear and intimidation out of dentistry. Meet our staff:
· Dr. David L. Shorten DMD, 25 Years of Experience- Dr. Shorten is married with one daughter who is currently enrolled at Boston College. He enjoys playing guitar at his church, mountain biking, hiking and working on his MG Midget.
Dr. Shorten graduated from Berry college in Rome, GA, in 1981 with a double major in Chemistry & Biology. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville in 1985.
He has remained active in continuing education throughout his carrer and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
· Rhonda Bova Expanded Duty Dental Assistant, 25 Years of Experience- Rhonda is married with 2 children, 3 stepchildren, and 3 grandchildren. She is actively involved and knowledgeable in physical fitness and has completed the P90-X program 2 times. She also loves to spend time with her grandchildren.

Phoebe Sell RDH, -Graduated from University of Louisville Dental Hygiene program 1998 and has been working with Dr. Shorten for 12 Years. -Phoebe is married with three children, 7, 13 & 16 years old, and don't forget the 2 dogs and 2 cats. She loves spending time with her family and doing home improvement projects.

Mariam Applegate, RDH, 8 Years Experience - Mariam recently relocated back to Louisville and is married and has one daughter, Reese, almost 2 years old and another on the way. I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
· Suzanne Gabay, Dental Assistant, - 5 Years Experience- Suz is married with two teenage children. She grew up in Key West and moved to Louisville 17 years ago when her husband was hired by UPS. If you want spicy ethnic food, she’s the one to see!

Lee Ann Wilson -Office Manager, 12 Years Experience- Lee Ann is married and has a seven year old son. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, getting together with her church group and working with local charitable organizations.
In addition to a warm and caring staff, the office features the latest technology including digital x-rays, one appointment CAD/CAM porcelain crowns and intraoral cameras, which allows the team to quickly and accurately diagnose potential problems with your teeth and gums.
