If you need a crown…Read this!
Restoring and putting crowns on teeth with CEREC has changed the way I practice dentistry. It has also changed the experience the patient has when they need this type of treatment.
When we see cracks in the teeth and fillings we often recommend treatment to make the tooth stronger. Crowns and onlays are what we usually use to make a tooth stronger to prevent things like sensitivity from cracked tooth syndrome that often leads to a root canal.
As a dentist, I prefer CEREC because I have found the fit of these restorations is consistently more precise that a lab produced crown. I can also be much more conservative because I don’t have to grind the entire tooth down to the gum line. I have been using CEREC since 2001 and I have been impressed with the long term results.
For the patient, they only have to have one visit which means time saved and no temporary crown to deal with for 2-3 weeks. They also like that we don’t have to take those impressions to make the plaster models.
As far as esthetics, you will not find a more natural looking and feeling crown. Patients often are amazed at how beautiful, comfortable and natural feeling they are. |
